Last January, Ronaldo made a significant move to Saudi club Al-Nassr in a deal valued at approximately £175 million per year. This decision followed the termination of his contract with Manchester United. The football star disclosed his plans while on stage at the Globe Soccer Awards, where he received three awards in Dubai.

Ronaldo clinched the inaugural ‘Best Middle East Player’ award at the ceremony, standing out among a 12-player shortlist. His outstanding performance with Al-Nassr, where he is currently the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League with 20 goals, further solidified his position in the football world.

Having finished as the top scorer in global football in 2023, tallying 54 goals for both club and country throughout the calendar year, Ronaldo’s prowess continues to shine. His existing contract with Al-Nassr is set to run until the conclusion of the 2024-25 season when he will reach the age of 40.

It is worth noting that Ronaldo had expressed a desire to retire around the age of 40, as revealed by TV host Piers Morgan during an interview in 2022.

In summary, Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent announcement regarding his retirement, delivered with a touch of humor, has sparked curiosity about the timeline of his exit from professional football. As he continues to impress with Al-Nassr, the football world eagerly awaits to see how long the iconic player will extend his illustrious career.
