The devastating plane crash in northeast Philadelphia on January 31st tragically claimed the lives of six people, including an 11-year-old girl and her mother. The Learjet 55, a medical transport aircraft, crashed shortly after takeoff from Northeast Philadelphia Airport, impacting a residential neighborhood.
Among the victims were Valentina Guzman Murillo, 11, and her mother, Lizeth Murillo Ozuna. Valentina, who had recently undergone life-saving medical treatment, was returning home to Mexico with her mother when the tragic accident occurred. Hospital staff, who had witnessed Valentina’s courageous battle with illness, were heartbroken by the news.
The crash also claimed the lives of the flight crew: Captain Alan Alejandro Montoya Perales, Copilot Josue de Jesus Juarez Juarez, Dr. Raul Meza Arredondo, and paramedic Rodrigo Lopez Padilla.
The impact of the crash extended beyond the aircraft, causing significant damage to surrounding homes and injuring 22 people on the ground.
