Jamie Lee Curtis Breaks Down on “The Tonight Show” While Discussing Devastating California Wildfires

Hollywood actress Jamie Lee Curtis made an emotional appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on January 8th, sharing her heartbreak over the devastating wildfires raging near her home in Pacific Palisades, California.

“I’m literally just about to cry,” she admitted, her voice trembling as she described the widespread destruction. “It’s just a catastrophe in Southern California.”

Curtis revealed that while her own home was spared, many of her friends and neighbors have lost everything. The wildfires have wreaked havoc on the community, destroying homes, businesses, and cherished landmarks.

The actress shared a particularly poignant loss: the destruction of her church, where she found sobriety 25 years ago. “This is the building where I got sober,” she said, her voice filled with emotion. “I think of all of the souls who came there for comfort and solace… and the thousands of people who reclaimed their lives through sobriety.”

Curtis used her platform to urge viewers to support relief efforts, emphasizing the importance of donating to organizations like the American Red Cross. She also stressed the importance of being prepared for emergencies, urging everyone to have an emergency kit ready with essential supplies.

The wildfires have had a devastating impact on the community, with five fatalities reported and over 2,000 structures destroyed. As firefighters continue to battle the flames, Curtis and many others are working to support those affected by this tragic event.
