Sia Chie Herng, who reportedly consumed up to 30 bowls of noodles a day along with copious amounts of milkshakes and ice cream, had become immobile due to his weight. The emergency call came after Herng spent four days confined to his bed, complaining of chest pains.

Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a daunting challenge. Herng’s weight, exceeding 320kg, made it impossible to transport him in an ambulance. A team of 20 rescuers was required to carefully lift him onto a five-tonne lorry using a makeshift stretcher.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of an unhealthy lifestyle. Herng’s case highlights the serious health consequences of excessive weight gain, including limited mobility and potential cardiovascular risks.

While Herng’s story is an extreme example, it underscores the importance of maintaining a balanced diet and an active lifestyle.
